Design has been a passion of mine from a young age. From the point I could pick up a pencil at three-years-old I’ve been drawing, doodling, sketching, and jotting down ideas. I could not be pulled from my sketchbook, and when I was gifted my first drawing tablet and program in 2005, I began digital art and design on my small computer. DeviantArt and GaiaOnline were my main posting sites. While in High School I received several Adobe Certifications and web development training. I graduated from high school and set my sights on art college.
I was accepted at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s (SCAD) Animation Program in 2011 and attended from 2012 to 2016. After a bad decline in health during my senior year from the stress of this particular college, it was in my best interest to step away from SCAD and focus on my life ahead. I moved from Atlanta, GA to Tallahassee, FL. My need to design never left me.
While getting my bearings in a new area, I decided to nurture a different hobby I’d later turn into an exciting business venture, and create mascots. My current most notable creation is Berri the Dalmatian for a local business: Nuberri Frozen Yogurt. You can read about Berri and my other mascot creations at feralfinery.com.
The need for education also never left and after my move from Atlanta, GA to Tallahassee, FL I made the decision to dip my toe back into college, and finish my Associates of Arts Degree at Tallahassee Community College (TCC).
And I did!
To keep this momentum going I applied to Southern New Hampshire University, where I am currently two-weeks away from graduating.
I have been a Junior Front-End Developer since 2020 for the State of Florida Department of Health Medical Quality Assurance.
I firmly believe in retaining a multitude of skills to keep yourself marketable and competitive. With a firm foundation in both design and web development, I plan to continue to grow within these fields.
